Private School Teaching?We Answered:
There are advantages and disadvantages to teaching in a private school. I have taught in one for over 20 years. I stay because of the people. THe rest of the faculty is warm and supportive and we are not only a team, but also a sort of "family." There is a great deal of regard and respect for each other and for the students. You can do more with them and not have to deal with "red tape." The negatives are that it usually does not pay as well as public school and does not always offer a good benefits package. But, if you have those through a spouse on through some other means, it might be an option for you. You might also discover that teaching in a public school would mean you would have more teaching resources at your disposal, whereas private schools may not be able to afford as much.As far as the high school diploma and teaching in a New Jersy school....I find that hard to believe, but the "credential" standard may be a little different in a private school. It is always wise to know the "accreditation" of a school before selecting it either as an employer or as an educational option for a student. Some accreditations are a little more lenient toward credentials and some are quite strict. A school, however, that would let a teacher teach with only a high school diploma is likely not to be accredited at all.
All the best to you.....!

I have a 2-yr teaching diploma and over 13yrs of teaching exp..What other jobs can I apply for?We Answered:
1) You could become a court reporter, with on the job training, since electronic reporters and transcribers learn their skills on the job and they make on average $43,000 a year in 2004, according to the US Dept of Labor. In some states you also have to become a notary or pass a state examination, as a Certified Court Reporter. Here's more info about the job from the US Dept of Labor:http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos152.htm
2) You could also become a human resources assistant, since you only need a high school diploma and basic office skills (Word, Excel, filing) but they only get paid on average annual earnings of $31,750 as of May 2004. But if you work for the Federal govt the average annual pay was $36,576 in 2005. Here's more info about the job: http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos144.htm
3) Sales Representative for Wholesale or Manufacturing companies don't require formal education, but employers do like people to have experience with sales. The salaries on average were $45,400 annually in 2004. For those that sold technical and scientific equipment, the average salaries were $58,580 in 2004. Here's more info about the career:
http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos119.htm
4) Public relations usually requires a 4 year degree, and entry level jobs are tough to get. But you would have a good background for it as well:

Good luck!

What organization will hire me for ESL teaching in Asia with a diploma? We Answered:
It's not a matter of a company that will hire you, it's more of a legal matter. The question should be 'What country in Asia will hire me with a 2 year diploma (legally)?'Korea is a no. But you can take up privates, but not recommended.
Japan... not recommended, it is pricey and competition is very high.
Thailand... You can do it but the laws are changing, sooner is probably better than later, next year some nasty laws may come to be.
China... I think that is your best bet, however, visa laws for the summer games are very tight, you may want to wait a few more weeks on that one.
Taiwan... I am not 100%, but I think you may be able to find a job, but they prefer a degree.
Vietnam... you will need to research.
Other countries that are not said are probably yes, but the pay is low and working conditions are not too hot. You probably have to be in the country to find the job too.
My advice is to put your name out on http://eslcafe.com and see what reaction you get. Do not take the first job, take your time and try to find the best place.
Good Luck

Is teaching a good profession in sweden ?We Answered:
What kind of school teacher?High school teatchers and for lower ages don't make much money at all. They have a normal salary. I think they get about 11-12000 after taxes. University teachers make more money. Private school teachers too. But they don't get rich of their jobs. I know there are some english classes at "Göteborgs univeritet", the Gothenburg university, in Göteborg/Gothenburg, with is in the not very south southwest of sweden.
