In need of some English teaching materials!!!?We Answered:
I don't know what age group you are teaching english but Rosetta Stone is good for elementary age students. I also used a curriculum from England called "Friends" for junior and high school ages. If you go to these websites you might be able to find materials to help you with your lessons. It helps if you follow a specific curriculum but this might be able to help you for now.Dianne Said:
How can I modify materials that are in English, if I will be teaching in a Spanish-speaking classroom? We Answered:
This depends on who your audience is. Are you preparing a unit for all Spanish-speakers. With respect, if you do not speak Spanish, you are the wrong person to prepare this unit! If you don't speak Spanish, this will be difficult. You would need a Spanish speaker to help, as on-line translators and simply paging through a dictionary will almost always get you incomprehensible language. Please delegate this task to a Spanish-speaking teacher. If you are teaching ELL (English Language Learners), you can probably find the same kind of high-interest, low reading level materials that is written for students with learning disabilities. Textbook companies have prepared materials for commonly taught subjects (social studies, science). Contact the publishers for sample materials.
Are you preparing a unit for English speakers but want to differentiate for Spanish speakers? Using many more visuals, Spanish vocabulary for concrete nouns (which can be more reliably found in bi-lingual dictionaries), speaking more slowly, asking a more fluent bi-lingual student are all methods that can help you differentiate for the English language learners (as well as your students who have learning disabilities).
I am sorry not to be of more specific help, but I would really have to know for whom you are preparing the unit to be of real assistance.
Thank you for more information. I suggest you log onto FL teach www.cortland.edu/flteach and ask the language teachers online. You can browse the archives without joining the list, which is an extremely active list with many Spanish teachers online.

What are some good ESL teaching materials for working with the poor village setting with few resources? We Answered:
Use pictures from old magazines to make flashcards for vocabulary words, situations and story/conversation starters. They are cheap, reusable and a lot of fun.Good Luck and Best Wishes.

How can I prepare different materials while I am teaching to english to the kids ?We Answered:
Firstly, and this is really just a point that's more a pet peeve for me, it is English. Proper nouns are always capitalized.Secondly, I am unsure what you mean by prepare different materials. Do you mean that you want to be multi-tasking and doing other things while you're "instructing" or that you want to incorporate a variety of materials while teaching the subject of English? If it's the latter, I am full of suggestions. If it is the other, I advise against doing that as you are robbing your students of your needed attention/guidance/teaching. Let me know if you want me to give you the afore mentioned suggestions.
