Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Shawn Said:

Higher level teaching assistant?

We Answered:

About £19,000 per year on full time hours depending on experience. Most HTLA will work less than this so wages would be pro-rata.

Jeffery Said:

can anyone tell me where to find info on training courses for Higher Level Teaching Assistant?

We Answered:

To achieve HLTA status you will need the support of your school, be able to get funding and undergo assessment that you fulfil the HLTA standards.
All info is on http://www.tda.gov.uk/support/hlta.aspx

what do i have to do to become a Teaching assistant?

We Answered:

you dont always have to have a qualification-you should have a maths and english at grade c or above though-it really depends how desperate the schools in your area are-go to college do a nvq/btec -if you got very poor gsces then youl start on level 1 if your grades are good youll be able to start on level 2 then work up-you will have to be in a school working either paid or voluntary to do nvqs-hlta is level 4 and if you can afford to do it (and the schools willing to support you then away you go-take your time though it will take u one year to do each level-2,3,4 and believe me levels 3 and 4 are pretty hard going good luck
