Online Teaching Degrees

Online Masters Degrees or Teaching Credentials?

We Answered:

The schools you mentioned are all the online schools, which you should look into yet you need to see if they are accredited, and see the success rate of the student who actually got a job from them. My cousins school districts wont hire anyone with an online credential because it is looked at as paying for your degree.

How to get teaching degree online?

We Answered:

The key is to make sure the college/university is accredited. I have three basic recommendations for everyone looking into online/distance education. They all have to do with exploring; after all, you have to defend your assets.

1. Make certain that you have triple checked their accreditation. First, they tell you what it is, then you go to that accrediting body’s website (not through the link provided by the school), and thirdly you would visit the department of education to see what they have to say. Do your diligent research into the institutions once you have narrowed down to a couple. You can look at the Better Business Bureau for more information on the college.

2. You must have extreme self motivation and be able to teach yourself per say. This means that you will not have someone telling you verbally, so it is up to you to get the information from the course room, text, and other resources. The best way to look at it is like a guided independent study course.

3. Review your goals, personal and professional. Make sure that the school that you are going to offers the programs that match your goals. Do not settle. There are many programs that are similar, but you have to make the ultimate decision. Do not let it be based on finances and length of program, but the fact that when you are finished or near finished you will be able to assume your proper place in the career field sought.

You should market yourself and not the degree or university. There are many traditional universities offering degrees that can be earned through online methods. Distance Learning Alliance has a list of these traditional online schools. Look at that if you are truly concerned with the name of the school. Good luck on your search!

online college that offers bachelor teaching degree?

We Answered:

while i understand your need to work, getting a degree online isn't worth anything. would you let someone with a degree from a computer teach your child? i certainly wouldn't. can you manage weekend or night classes at a real campus? you will have much more success and will not be wasting your money if you can take classes at a real school.

Online degrees?

We Answered:

There is an established school, Walden Univ. When you research schools ask them how long they have been in business and what their graduation rates are? You do not wish to enroll in a school with a high attrition rate.

Also, ask potential employers how they feel about online degrees. There may still be a small stigma attached to the field. Good luck!

What is the best website for online teaching bachelor degree?

We Answered:

Be careful with bachelor degrees on line. You need to make sure they are certified or your degree may not count. There are more that do master's degrees on line. Ashland University is one.

Contact your state's Department of Education to ask the kind of certification a college needs so you can make sure they are legitimate for your education degree. Seems like it is ASD something. If they are not certified then your degree may amount to nothng.

There are may schools where they have Saturday classes and night classes and some of those schools may offer online classes as well so I'd recommend you go to a more traditional shool that also offers some online classes. You can call your local colleges and ask about their certification and what is neessary for education degree and then check online schools. If they say they are certified with some of those same agencies, then contact the agency to verify it.

Good luck.

Went to check on line. This one says it is NCATE certified and that is the group you need.

Phoenix Univ has online classes but I don't know about certifiation.

i'd cross check though by finding the certifying agency and making sure they are approved as that can change fromt ime to time as NCATE comes in every so often to check out the system and they want to keep that certifcation.

I checked Phoenix and they claim TECATE accreditation and I never heard of that before. It is NCATE that I recall from when I was working with the teacher's union in Ohio. So I'd recommend you look at NCATE. You could check with your Department of Education though about accreditation and what they require or recommend.

This is Phoenix info.

Reputable online teaching degree?

We Answered:

There are some good programs. I worked with teachers in Toledo and at Sylvania schools they negotiated some tuition help for certain schools and one of them was an on line program. Now they did have to get in groups of 3 or 4 and do some joint work and then were on computer and phone at times. I can't recall the name of the school. But you need to look at ascertification. Check with a local Board of Eduation and ask for the Curiculum people or the HR person and see if they can suggest an online masters degree teacing program. Superintendent should be able to suggest one as well. I think one is Ashland but I'm not sure if it is connected to Ashland Univ. in Ohio. My daughter took some classes at BYU on line, but it was finishing up a few undergraduate classes. You could also check with some of the colleges you were connected with back in the states. BYU has a big international program, but I think that is more in business than in eduation. If you want to teach then you need to decide if you want ot teach on the HS level or college level. Your master's might be different depending on which you wanted to do.

When you come back, where do you want to locate? Check with schools in that area both for master degrees on line and also with the type schools where you'd want to work. They may be able to advise you and also to tell what they need. There is a National Teacher Certification program and you might want to check on line about that and what the qualifications are. If you have National Teacher Certification, that could be a big point in you being hired over someone else.

Good luck to you.
