Preschool Teaching Jobs

Pamela Said:

Can you give me an example of a list of expectations for a preschool teaching job?

We Answered:

And being an assistant think about how you are going to help the teacher. The expectations that I have for my teacher are to help me get the room prepped for the kids, sit on the floor with the kids during large group, she teaches a small group, helps me lesson plan and assists with activities, helps take monitoring notes and observations(things that we see the kids learning and doing to help themselves or their peers). She also does conferences with me. I work for a head start program and it has high expectations so my assistant is my right hand. I hope this helps some and good luck!!

Clifton Said:

Is it hard to find a job teaching preschool in Wa? I have a foreign degree?

We Answered:

That would depend on what kind of degree you have. If you have the equivalent of a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education along with good experience working with children, you should be able to find something. If you have an Associate's in ECE along with experience, you could still likely get a job. However, if your degree is not in the proper field or you don't have experience, it might be hard.

Brian Said:

What are your thoughts on this situation (preschool teaching job)?

We Answered:

If they took it down, they might already have filled the position. I can't see them taking it down unless it was already filled.
You might be overqualified for the job since you do have a degree, and it's not required.

Milton Said:

I got a preschool teaching job, and was suddenly fired.?

We Answered:

why would you and your family move for a "preschool teaching job"
how is it possible to have received "checks" after only working 2 days
the employer has 3 days to complete an I-9 and until their quarterly filing to deal with tax issues so although an unusual way to do business most likely NOT illegal in any way.........

your question makes absolutely NO sense....

Micheal Said:

yesterday i called an institution for a preschool teaching job,?

We Answered:

Give it another day and call back again. Knowing headmistresses as I do, I would say she probably made a shopping list on the back of the paper where she wrote your number, and lost it.

Wayne Said:

I just got a new teaching job at a preschool and I start Monday. I admit I'm a little nervous about starting ?

We Answered:

Is this a public or private school? Sounds like a private school.
I don't mean to scare you but if I were you I'd get another teaching position where you have Union protection. All new teachers are nervous. You are not alone so don't doubt yourself! This Director does not sound too supportive. Is this your first year of teaching? What credentials do you have? Really, as a former teacher of 35 years I am telling you this job sounds like it could be trouble, especially if you are not confident in yourself as of yet ( Again, this is normal). New teachers need all the training and support they can get. That support should come not only from the administration but from a mentor, also. Supplies are very expensive. It doesn't sound like your Director is communicating what you should be doing to acquire your supplies. I honestly can tell you the only advice I would give you is to leave the job before you start. You don't want any bad rap on your references for the future. Even if you have to work in retail for awhile while you look for another teaching job.Get a position in the Public School System.
If you are not certified many districts are offering tuition assistance as some areas of the US are beginning to show a teacher shortage.
