How do I teach a girl from Spain how to speak English? We Answered:
well if your not fluent in the spanish langue its going to be tuff, but just picking up an obeject and asking how do you say in spanish (como se dice en espanol) and let her tell you then you tell her in english. thats the best start, also speak slowly and help her pronouce the words clearly. use hand jesters pointing such as me and you point to you them her, point to a bird in the sky and say bird. get the point? hope this helps. p.s. also try reading and dont forget the dicanarryLeslie Said:
Do I need a college degree to teach English in Spain? We Answered:
Teaching English in Spain is very easy. I have an irrelevant degree (electronic engineering) and I found a job in several cities no problem. One certificate that would increase your chances is the TEFL, and you can do that in one weekend in Ireland or the UK (there are very cheap flights from all over Spain to London and Dublin). For the course see this site: www.i-to-i.com and for the cheap flights here: www.skyscanner.netTo find job openings go to: http://www.loquo.com/ and select the city you are interested in- it's a great site in finding a job online. You can post a message or respond to any that might be up. Also use this to find accommodation etc. Also a more direct and efficient approach is to email all the English schools your CV. Go to the Spanish yellow pages: http://www.paginas-amarillas.es/... and type in "inglés" as actividad. And on the website of each result you can find an email address to send your CV to.
I see you are Mexican, so you can obviously write to them in Spanish. Don't write in English even if you are looking to impress them, because a lot of these email addresses go to secretaries who might not speak English, but would be interested in passing it on to their boss. Your CV should also not be in English. Note that not being a mother tongue AND not being an EU citizen will reduce your chances of finding a job with a professional school, but once you arrive you can put ads on loquo.com and on notice boards around where you live and give private lessons for good money. I worked in Valencia on my own private lessons and only needed to work 3 hours a day to cover all expenses!!
I hope that helps, ¡suerte!

Best places to teach English in Spain and Italy? We Answered:
I currently live in Northern Italy (one hour north of Venice) and I love it. It would be easier to answer this question if we knew why you hated Bologna and Milan...?Irene Said:
I want to teach english in Spain what college classes should I take?We Answered:
If your not an EU citizen you find it very hard to get job in Spain teaching. By the way the word English is always a capital E. Any employer has to advertise the job in all 27 EU countries before hiring someone from outside the EU. Too much paper wrok and red tapeKay Said:
How Can A U.S Citizen Teach English In Spain?!?We Answered:
Hi! If you want to teach with a work visa, then it's pretty much next to impossible. Due to the current economic crisis, any employer who wants to higher a foreigner has to prove that no one in Spain could do the same job as you... I know of many people that have simply overstayed their visas and teach as consultants... it's illegal, though not heavily punished or enforced, not for Americans anyway. If you choose to go this route, you'll find that there is plenty of work in the big cities (Madrid, Barcelona). It's untrue that the Spanish prefer Brits or the Brit-accent in their English teachers. It's just easier for Brits to live and teach in Spain since they don't have visa issues. The Spanish adore American movies, and other pop culture... and just about all of them agree that NYC is the best city in the world! LOL
Anywho, another option you should look into is this:

The Spanish government does a sort of exchange program with Americans. You come teach English in whatever small town they decide to place you (usually waaaayyyy out in the boondocks) and after 2 years they reward you with a resident visa (for a more permanent stay).
I know someone who did that but then hated living in a tiny town and left her program so it's up to you.
Best of luck!!

I have been offered a position to teach English in Malaga, Spain for 700 Euro/month. How far will this take me?We Answered:
Malaga has some of the highest rents of anywhere in Spain so finding a cheap place to live is going to be extremely difficult, if not impossible. A friend was offered a bar job there and went down for 2 weeks to find housing and couldn't even find a flat share for less than €400/month so he didn't take the job in the end
