Teach In Australia
Eric Said:
How Can I teach in Australia? We Answered:
You will need a one year Teaching degree on top of the Bachelors of Education. - We do a Grad Dip in Education over here (not sure of the US equilivant),But a word of caution - the breaths of subjects that we teach is somewhat less than in the US - for instances, political science is not one of them, Business might be in the private schools and some state schools (but is more the technical side, secretarial skills and basic business skills). International studies is not a subject. At the two high schools near me - none of the subjects you listed is taught.
Additionally, only Maths and Science teachers with at least 2 years experiences are on the Critical list at the moment - so you would need to have experience in one of those to get a visa.

Anyone who has gone to England from Australia to teach? Someone who knows about it?We Answered:
Hi there, I am a kiwi who has just come back from 4 years teaching in the UK.The jobs that are mainly advertised are for London. London is really, really expensive! You do get a bonus to teach there but it is not much in the great scheme of things.
Another thing is that they are after contract workers. (ie relievers). This can be tough, as can be the kids.
My advise is to go to the TES website. It has lots of info that you will find really useful. I would stay away from the South/SE and SW of England as the cost of living is expensive. The further north you go the cheaper it is to live.

England has a different system to Scotland and Wales, so you can't be registered for one and then go work in another.
How long you can go for depends on your status. If you have a British parent or grandparent you can apply for UK citizenship or the right to abode. If not, you would need to sort out your job before going unless under one of the contract schemes.
Wages will depend on experience. Don't bet on being registered automatically. It took me a year to get registered and because of this my wages were effected.
Lastly, I got my job through the TES. My school was happy to employ me over the net.
If you want any more info then please drop me a line.

Would I be allowed to teach in Australia? We Answered:
I presume you have an undergraduate degree in education. A Master's degree is undertaken by qualified teachers to improve their ability in education. If you have an undergraduate degree in another discipline e.g. Arts, you would need to complete a Graduate Diploma in Education, including practicum experience before you could teach. A Master's Degree in Education is not necessary to teach in Australian states and territories, although highly desirable. Can you teach in Australia if you have completed suitable tertiary education courses? You would certainly need a working visa not just a student visa. Even if you just wished to teach on a casual basis, you would need a police check. A typical application form can be found at: http://www.det.act.gov.au/__data/assets/…
This is the form used in Canberra, A.C.T.

I want to go teach French in Australia for a year, how do I go about it?We Answered:
You can try seeing if you can apply to the language colleges or TAFE. French is not really a language taught in Australia - we all learn Asian languages not European (its taught in the same frequency as Thai is in Canada), but some evening classes are run in French for people wishing to go on holidays. However you cannot expect to make a living out of this - as it will only be pocket change. If you have no post graduate teaching experience, and you are looking to start in September, schools are most certainly out. High school French jobs are very scarce and the teachers have to be experienced in either 2 languages or another subject as well (like History, Maths) and single language jobs are almost non-existent. Also our temp jobs run from January-December, starting in September is going to severely limit your chances in getting any type of teaching job.

Do schools in australia teach psychology? We Answered:
We only have psychology at a university level. Australian high schools do not teach psychology, and obviously they don't teach it in primary school either. They also lack a lot of other things, such as teaching, history, geography, etc. They teach the kids BASIC things about Australia and completely omit all information about the other countries in the world.
