Andrew Said:

We Answered:

She would need a degree plus a PGCE Postgraduate certificate in education.

Alice Said:

How can I teach in England when I graduated in Wales?

We Answered:

Hi,
There's a mutual understanding between QTS (Qualified Teaching Status) between English and Wales so your allowed to work in England. If you graduated (PGCE) in Wales and want to teach in England, then you won't have to take the Skills Test in Maths, English and Science.

Melanie, a close personal friend, was French. She came to Warwick University where we both took Early Childhood Studies. While I went to Cambridge to study for a PGCE in Early Years, Melanie took what is dubbed as 'the easy route'. She researched the Skills Tests and she found out if you went to Wales to study you didn't have to take the Skills Test. So she went to Wales to study a PGCE in Early Years and now she is the teacher who I work with.

Tracy Said:

Can a qualified teacher from England teach in the USA?

We Answered:

There may be a nation wide rule, but I would think it probably depends on the state that you are teaching in. Here in the U.S., even if you are certified in one state, it does not mean you can automatically teach in another. Some states require you to pass a test or take more classes to teach there if your certification was gained in another state. Some will accept your certificate, it just depends. I would imagine that out of country certification acceptance differs from state to state as well.

Ramon Said:

If I go to college to become a teacher in canada, can i teach in england?

We Answered:

It's unlikely you'll have to repeat your entire degree, but you'll almost certainly have to take a few more courses and maybe some tests. Each country (and sometimes state/province) has its own very strict requirements. If you know for sure you want to teach in England, you'd probably be better off getting your degree there.
