Teaching Assistant Level 3

Tara Said:

Devise a personal development plan for a teaching assistant level 3 (uk)?

We Answered:

As any 'personal' development plan must be based on the prior knowledge, qualifications and experience of the individual it is impossible for anyone to accurately advise.

One would consider the individual's areas of weakness and devise ways of improving these. For example, a lack of knowledge about one particular aspect of education might be addressed by attending a course, difficulties in relating to certain children might be addressed by observing colleagues or mentoring.

One might also consider extending existing knowledge/skills which are strengths, by taking further courses and/or devising ways in which such knowledge/skills can be better-utilised in the school environment.

Sergio Said:

Typical job description of a teaching assistant with NVQ Level 3?

We Answered:

in the uk-you would be expected to support children in and out of the classroom -your usually assigned to one or more children-in school you just stay with them throughout their lessons-it depends on what the childs needs are-it may be behaviour-learning needs-a disability- youd sit with them during lessons and support /help them-if they are paying you at a level 3 you will be expected to do quite a lot of planning-laising with teachers etc-you will also be involved in meetings with outside agencies and the childs carers/parents-you will also be expected to write up daily/or even lesson by lesson reports on that child(these last things ive mentioned would be expected whatever level you were employed as)the big difference in level 3 is the amount of planning needed-at level 3 many schools would let u take whole classes in the absence of the teacher-this is especially true at primary level-as well as the child your attached to-youll be expected to take groups of children at a time and support them-this includes leading them-lots of info i know if i can help anymore please email me-

need help with teaching assistant level 3 assignment?

We Answered:

Ask your tutor for help. I am sure they would prefer it if you went to them because you do not understand rather than not attempt it at all.

Sorry it is way above me, but good luck

are there any schools in northfield that will take on a level 3 teaching assistant student on in september?

Bring up the schools' websites and check under Employment Opportunities. Or call the schools and get the scoop from the school secretary... they always know what's going on.
