A few things:

Competitive districts (difficult to get into, many applicants for few positions) *do* look at where you went to school. When faced with multiple candidates with the same state issued credentials, interview counts for much...but since everyone puts on their best face.... they often pick candidates from schools they know and have worked with before. I know at my school (Los Angeles), we look for UCLA trained teachers. This is because we know it as a successful program and have seen many a teacher come through...

With some traditional programs..perhaps your state college.. you will be missing out on a few benefits. often state schools make partnerships with their local districts. they have to - as their students must perform student teaching within the districts schools. Often this arrangement allows the student teacher to find a position. Districts use this as a recruitment tool. With this online school, you will not have the benefit of a long history of your college working within a district. You may be asked to find your own student teaching slot.....

my advice - go to your state school.

Good luck

Elementary Teaching Degree Online?

I'd make an appointment with your former university's career services to see what your options are. Considering you've already done a degree, you might be able to do a shortened course for primary teaching if it's on offer. I wouldn't imagine that you could do a teaching degree online since much of the work involves placements in schools and that might not be possible to arrange (especially these days, when schools like to know that the people they have coming in to work with kids are known to be trustworthy and safe).
