Teaching English Japan

Martin Said:

I am interested in teaching English in Japan. Can you help me please?

We Answered:

You are interesting in teaching English in Japan, but you're already teaching English in Japan? The question doesn't match up with the post.

See if they can reassign you to Aeon in another part of Japan, or on your own check out the job listings for any of the major cities.

Where/How can i get a teaching English Job in Japan with no degree? YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED <3?

We Answered:

A 1 year brake, and you want to teach English? Hmmmm
Simply because you speak the language doesn't mean you would be an effective teacher. Sorry, but that's just a fact of life. You can take courses in ESL, and get some form of certification, and there are schools in Japan that will accept non-degree teachers. They don't, of course, pay top wages.
If you can get proper certification, you can travel anywhere and earn your way around the world. It's a great return for a relatively short investment in time.
Think about it, and good luck whichever way you decide to go.

i don't think there is a cut off age

Is it true that some English teaching schools in Japan will pay for your plane to come teach English?

We Answered:

Yes. Japan is the highest country to pay university students to teach english. However the downside is the higher costs of living, as well as 6 day work weeks, or 5 day full days (when i say full, i mean FULL)... the high expense prevented me from deciding to go teach at this point of time, i might consier it later on.

if you know a lot of japanese it would be good for living. during the classes though, you will be only speaking english, conversing in dialogue with japanese students.

edit: let me just add that only some companies will pay for your flight. typically the pay rate may be low

Are there any teaching English in Japan jobs that don't require a degree?

We Answered:

To work in Japan legally you need a work visa (and trust me, you don't want to try working illegally). The visa requires at least a four-year degree. This is a government requirement, not something specific to teaching English.

Discuss It!
