English Teaching in Thailand?

We Answered:

I think you better do more research before hand. First is visa requirements. you need work permit and visa. Pay is not very good and school system is nothing like the west. Check the web site below for information on teaching in Thailand.

Dwight Said:

Right now, how hard is it to get a job in Thailand teaching english?

We Answered:

Right now the public schools are closing for the summer this Friday and will not open again to about 13 May. So right now may be hard to find someone to talk to about a job. Last month would had been a good time to look for a job here. As for requirements it is a Degree in Education or a degree in any other area and a TEFL. It's not that hard to find a job but the pay is poor and then conditions in some rural schools are not suited for teaching. You can get more information from this teacher web site here in Thailand http://www..ajarn.com good luck.

has anbody worked in thailand ? teaching english when you can't speak english?

We Answered:

Your subject title says you can't speak English, so how would you plan to teach it then. I doubt that you are qualified to be a teacher just from reading this question. I think both you and Thai students would be better off it you find other work in Thailand.
