Want to change careers and become a teacher? What's the best path I should take?We Answered:
Contact the Dept of Education for your state. Each state has a teacher certification branch that can evaluate your transcripts (from previous degree coursework) and tell you what you need to become a teacher. Many states have alternative routes to teaching that take into consideration prior work experiences as well as prior education. Some also have provisional teaching levels for entry into teaching WHILE you are gaining your full certification. The counselors can give you a tremendous amount of guidance. Check there first, then see your local community colleges and universities for requirement completion.Isaac Said:
Changing careers and becoming a teacher ? Want to teach but don't have any experience..?We Answered:
You sound like a great candidate for a teacher. The best teachers always lament how they didn't like how they were taught. The best way to find out specific information for the state you live in is to type into your search engine "alternative certification Texas (or whatever state you are from). If you didn't get your BA then I would talk to the teacher certification department at one of your local colleges. With a little luck, you could be teaching next school year.Brandon Said:
What are your Recommendations on Engineering Career Path?We Answered:
I think your main problem is probably you GPA. If you are not required to, don't put it on your resume. Also, it would be worth calculating your major GPA, or your GPA for only the classes that are required by your major. This might be higher. Also, if there is an explanation for why your GPA is lower than it might otherwise be, it might be appropriate to let them know about that.Try to emphasize all of the positive things you've done to prepare for a career in engineering. Make sure they know about your design experience and your organizational skills.
Also, is there a career developement office at your college? It might be helpful to have a professional career counselor read through your resume and whatever cover letters you have to write. They might have some surprising input.

Colleges for math or physics education major? We Answered:
I know several engineers who have gone into elementary and HS teaching. Your state's Department of Education surely has a teacher credential program. That's what you need.Joy Said:
I need a scholaship /Grants to participate International Dermatology Fellowship in Wake Forest University USAWe Answered:
Congratulations! Contact Wake Forest and see if they have a trainee grant that can help you. The best way to do that is to contact the Dermatology Department administrator and ask him/her. Even if they don't have a trainee grant, that person is the one who can steer you in the right direction. Trust me, you won't be the first to ask.Brandon Said:
