depends what you want to teach. if you want to teach secondary education you need to study for a post graduate certificate in education. if you want to teach at a university you need a masters degree.

Have you thought about what sort of arts and crafts movement has happened in India in say the last 10 years and how does it compare with the movement 100 years ago?
Find a point of reference as to what is going on in India today as opposed to what the country did while they were in under British rule. And how they lives would be different if India was still under the Brits.
For instance look at the jewelry the women wore in say 1947 and what are they wearing today. I hope this helps.

what age are we talking about? anyway, since you are a foreigner, it would great if u had a classroom activity where u get your students to 'show' u wats indian. this could be in a form of a dance, a dish or even a play. nothing excites students more than giving the freedom to participate in their class activity in anyway they want to. good luck!
