Teaching In South Korea
Ron Said:
How would I go about teaching in South Korea? We Answered:
English education would be the best major to choose in college. Although teaching overseas can be a lot of fun, most teachers don't make it their life-long career. If you get your state teaching certification, you'll have more job opportunities when you come home. Plus, it will look attractive to employers. Do a minor in TESOL if your college offers it.For Korea, you don't need to travel there to find a job. In fact, if you go to Korea on a tourist visa to look for work and then get hired, you'll have to leave the country for a bit to get your work visa (most people go to Japan). Also, many schools will pay for your flight over if you get hired outside of Korea.
Eslcafe.com has LOTS of postings for jobs in Korea as well as forums with lots of questions and answers about teaching there. You'll probably find that info really helpful.
Susan Said:
Should I apply for more than one placement agency for teaching in South Korea? We Answered:
Try facebook, dave's esl cafe korea, Seoul global center, worknplay korea, many other varoius sites for korea u can find esl teaching, also try word of mouth from people. They do acutally help out so much. Once u put your resume out there U can find agencies like u won;t believe. Use your best judgement because they will try and work with u. Just look at the contracts also. Make sure what u want is in them. Also network around to other teachers in korea that are teaching english. they will help u lots in advice that u are seeking. U can use various recriters and agencies at same time to find a pefrect job that u are looking for.A site for native English speakers looking for English teaching positions in Korea.

Alfred Said:
Does anyone know if Park English for teaching in South Korea is legit? What are some good/bad agencies? We Answered:
A good way to find out if Park English is legit, is to find out how long Park English has been in business.Company Verification Link: http://www.parkenglish.com/redirect/Information/Information-V-77-companyverification.php
This shows Park English's:
1. Company Registration by Korean Government
2. Recruitment Agency License by Labor Board
3. Verified by Teach Abroad
4. Verfied by TEFL International, a non-profit organization
5. Teachers' Testimonials
6. Photos of staff with teachers in Korea
7. Official office Photo and address
If you would like to know whether they are a good agency or not, you should request to speak to teachers who have worked with them before.
You can also look on the web for what people say about Park English based on their experience with them.
If you are being matched with a school by Park English, you should request your Park English agent to provide you with the contact information of currently employed teachers with that school.
You can also request for Park English to provide you with photos of the school and housing that you would be provided with the school you are being matched with.
If you were treated poorly or if teachers had the experience of being treated poorly, or no support when required, it would be very difficult for businesses to continue, or would not have recommendations.
It would be bad business to conduct business in an unethical manner, and those that do would suffer the consequences. On the other hand those companies that work ethically, not for the sake of business, but as their company mission, and personal morals of the staff who make up the company, would carry on a good reputation and in turn have better stable business.
