How much do Paraprofessionals make in a month teaching?

We Answered:

I've been working as a parapro throughout the last three years of college - I'm Secondary English Ed. Not only did I get paid the whole time, it could have counted towards part of my practicum had I put together some evidence of the work I learned to do. I'm in Michigan, I started at 8.86/ hr and am now at 9.30/hr with benefits almost as good as the teachers. I could definitely make more money doing something else, but it'd be hard to match the benefits package and the experience I'm gaining - not to mention the connections I'm making and the fact that this is right up my alley so I LOVE going to work everyday.

Which states are hiring Elementary Teachers?

We Answered:

I have been researching the same thing because I have started on the path to becoming a elementary school teacher. From what I have read cities in the sun belt states are much better for employment of teachers, than cities in the rust belt states. I also read that California, New York and New Jersey as having some of the highest teacher salaries. Atlanta and Chicago also make the list of places to work for teachers and based on where you are located those are right by you. Teachers with a special ed cert. are also in demand and can find good employment opportunities. Pennsylvania is another state you might want to check out because there are also suppose to have quite a few jobs openings for teachers. Math and science teachers also badly needed.

Terrance Said:

Who can tell me what do I need to do to be able to teach in the State of Georgia (USA)?

We Answered:

go to the georgia department of education website and follow the links. there is a great need for bi-lingual teachers, it probably will only take you a few courses to be accredited. but you cannot expect to just teach with a degree or certificate from another country and start here in the u.s. without learning our system. if you got a certificate from georgia and went to wyoming you would have to upgrade your certificate to their state requirements too. if you are really interested then you will not see the additional requirements as a deterrent but as furthering your education in your new country.

When the Adminsitration lies...do Liberals care?

We Answered:

I am not surprised by these lies. That's what I expect out of a "community organizer" to play the system to their advantage.

Sylvia Said:

Wife is a teacher in SW Georgia. She just signed letter of intent to teach next fall. Can she get out of it?

We Answered:

Most states do have protections in case a teacher breaks a contract and that usually includes suspension or revocation of a license (the act is called unprofessional conduct). However, in most cases- particularly when a spouse is relocated- a letter to the school board asking for a rescinding of the letter is usually granted.
