Teaching Jobs In New Zealand

Glen Said:

What are the wages of a flight instructor in New Zealand?

We Answered:

Pay for flying instructors varies depending on whether they are A, B or C-category instructors, and on the size of the organisation that employs them. Larger organisations have more students and tend to pay higher salaries.

At the C-category level, new instructors often work part time on a casual basis, and are paid per flying hour. If they have full-time positions, they typically earn between $24,000 and $28,000 a year. As permanent employees, they may be expected to take on additional duties such as cleaning planes and paperwork.

B-category instructors usually earn between $30,000 and $35,000.

A-category instructors usually earn between $50,000 and $110,000.

According to the 2006 Census, Flying Instructors earned an average of $40,800 a year and worked an average of 37 hours per week.
