Unless South Carolina is in high need of teachers, they won't be very likely to reciprocate another state's license, especially if you haven't taught and have lower scores than SC requires. If they're not in need, they can afford to be picky.

Check out what other states require, but I know for a fact that right now Ohio is NOT in need of teachers. The market is flooded. Right now there are people with teaching degrees who've been farming or working in factories for several years waiting for jobs to open up. Check Texas and New Mexico.

Try this website for some information but be sure to call the state licensing office. The laws change so frequently and the website might not be correct. Most states have an alternate licensing program but the requirements of NCLB have changed many of them. Only so many teachers can be teaching on a waiver in each school, the parents will be notified that you are not highly qualified, etc.
