Teaching Jobs New York
Tracey Said:
I am a science teacher. Where should I try to get a job? New York (Not NYC), PA, Vermont, NH or ME?We Answered:
I teach high school math in Utah, but was originally certified in NY, and my brother-in-law teaches physics in NY.My rankings would be:
1) NY because the cost of living is good for the pay (and I am biased because I am from there). Plus, it is centrally located, and easy to locate within reach of a fairly large city. Drawback is NY is very test-oriented at all grade levels.
2) NH - quaint, small towns, supportive on education.
3) PA - ditto, more blue-collar types of kids I think.
4) ME - ditto, except more isolated from America...maybe not a bad thing.
5) VT - very weak teachers union, but like NH, quaint.
Sorry, I can't give more details, but I love the NE as well. I miss the sprawling green countryside. I bet NY, PA or NH would be the closest comparison to where you are coming from. Good luck in your search for utopia!

Teaching jobs on military bases? We Answered:
The Department of Defense hires teachers for military bases. She has excellent qualifications. Have her apply to the DOD once you know where you will be located.Jacqueline Said:
Is new york school of design a good school to study fashion? They are promising to help with jobs, Parson wont?We Answered:
Parsons is your best bet. I'm currently a Senior in Communication Design and Technology and we do not only have a wonderful job placement program, but we also have a plethora of career opportunities that are only available to us(because we are Parsons after all) so I wouldn't worry about finding a job. If you have talent and motivation, then it doesn't matter where you go to school, but if you choose Parsons I can personally guarantee you that you'll be ahead of the curve as long as you stay focused. I just landed myself a job for this professional web development company and I'm sure part of it was because I went to Parsons and the great education I'm receiving there.Troy Said:
If certified and well educated is it difficult for a New Yorker to get a teaching job in Texas? We Answered:
Houston,we have a problem;the Texas public education system is indeed need of repair.Ellen Said:
I got a dwi 4 years ago can i still get hired for a teaching position? We Answered:
You would do well to call the Board of Education in your area, ask to speak to those who do the hiring and ask them how a DWI conviction affects an application. You don't need to identify yourself. You can say you are simply researching the matter if you are asked.By going right to the source for the definitive answer, you can move forward, one way or another.
It would probably have been a really good idea to check on this before all your "hard work." Still though, it is what it is, so make the call and find out if you have a future as a teacher.
Good luck.
