Science teachers are in great demand in Australia and if she has full teaching qualifications and at least a year's experience, she will have little trouble getting a visa and finding work after arrival in Australia. Secondary School Teacher is the only teaching classification on our Critical Skills List (CSL) and state sponsorship is offered by several states to science teachers in particular - the occupation being on the CSL provides for high priority visa processing.

All government (i.e. not private or systemic) education is administered at state level with the employer being the Department of Education (or similar) in each state. Salaries vary fairly substantially between states and rise for each year of experience, but start at around $50k for a new graduate.
