Teaching Jobs Scotland

Enrique Said:

US degree for teaching in Scotland?

We Answered:

To become a teacher in the UK you need a University Degree in an academic subject and a additional qualification called a PGCE - a Post Graduate Certificate in Education - either a Primary one, or a PGCE in Secondary Education in a Specialist subject.

I will warn you now that University degrees in the UK are very, very competitive - and very challenging academically. They're also very expensive - especially if you're an overseas student.

I'll always warn you that it will be difficult to emigrate into the UK without a Professional qualification, especially since you're not an asylum seeker or facing death if your sent back home.

Is it easy to get a English teaching job in Cuba?

We Answered:

No, not easy at all.

There aren't many here who would be willing to employ your sister, I suspect.

Perhaps the English-speaking school ? But I suspect they would be looking for people with experience.

Can you teach in Scotland if you do your PGCE in England?

We Answered:

As long as you have a degree in the subject you are teaching and Higher English (or equivalent) you should be able to get your provisional registration fairly easily.
You should check the gtc Scotland website to see if you are eligible for the induction scheme in Scotland -
