How do I find jobs in teaching Chinese in the UK?What are the criteria for getting into the public schools? We Answered:
Not very popular, I'm afraid. If by 'public schools' you mean state schools, then Chinese is taught in very few (and generally only in secondary schools).
In order to teach in any UK state schools you will require a degree and a teaching qualification. I am not sure that 'early childhood' would count. Full details here:

You might find public schools (that is, ones outside the state system where parents pay fees) who will employ you even if you are not fully-qualified, but you will have to seek out individual jobs and apply. Chinese is more likely to be taught in such schools, which often offer a range of languages to their pupils.

and the jobs pages on www.tes.co.uk will give you an idea of what is available in public schools and what qualfications/experience are required.
