Good Videos to teach the Spanish alphabet to my child?

We Answered:

I am raising my children bilingual. You'd be amazed if you go on ITunes and search for "Children's songs in spanish" you get so many popular and new kids' songs in Spanish (Wheels on the Bus, Happy and you know it, Itsy Bitsy Spider, ect) I made all my own cd's that way. They listen to them in the car and love them! As far as dvd's you can go on Amazon and get like Sesame Street in Spanish and much more. Also, on Amazon, search for children's books in Spanish. I found a lot that way. My suggestion is to get books, cd's, and dvd's in Spanish sooner rather than later, because once they learn a lot of English they may not be as interested in hearing you read a book in Spanish.

To tell the truth, the way I taught my babies the alphabet in Spanish is just singing it to them (during meals, bath time, whenever). Plus you can just write the Spanish alphabet on poster paper so he can see it while you sing it. As for counting is Spanish, we count the stairs in Spanish as we go up and down. My 2-year-old can sing the Spanish alphabet and count to 10 in Spanish already. Both her and my 1-year-old speak some Spanish (and I'm not completely fluent, but I'm learning through this whole experience).

Good luck! Two languages is such a gift you're giving your child!

What is a good gift idea for a cooperating teacher for student teaching?

We Answered:

Wow! so thoughtful of you to think that. Well, this might help you. Giving coupons like the one you thought of, is just the perfect gift for them. Those are just the best gifts for them, but come to think of this, you might wanna widen the choices the use of your gift coupon. You have to select the type of coupon you might wanna give. I have done this to my teachers also before on my intermediate years. You might wanna visit my source to see for yourself the type of expedia coupons and the choices of coupons you might wanna give them.

My child is three months shy of being five years old . . . Any ideas . . .?

We Answered:

This sounds too simple but most times I can tell what hand a child is, just by holding something like a pencil out to the child and see which hand he uses to grab it.
Most office supply stores carry a special foam grip you slide on the pencil to help the child hold the pencil, some of the grips have a shape that helps the child hold it the right way.
I am left handed but cut with scissors, and eat with my right hand.
I would let your child use what ever hand he wants to , pretty soon those muscles in the hand will develop and he will know which hand is best for writing.
When I was growing up , the teachers thought left handed people were just using the wrong hand. I spend an entire year in 2nd grade using my right hand- or else I was punished. Thank god my third grade teacher knew better.

What do you think of this idea for a kids TV movie?

We Answered:

Uh, evading 'law and corruption' isn't a kid's movie idea, at all.

While at petco last month with 1 pup (13 months at the time) and her Dam

I over heard a man telling his wife that the taller one was a male, you can tell by it having more black on the face....His wife asked what breed they were..He said to her "Pit Bulls" don't get too close to them ...

I laughed out loud and turned to him and said ... ummm they are both female boxers, you can tell by the lack of a penis .......his wife muffled a laugh as I walked away laughing with my girls

Homeschool supply store, should I start one?

We Answered:

The simple answer to this question is yes...

However, to be an effective business, you need something special, something that other teaching supply stores don't have.

Maybe have a section with homeschool books on law, college prep (since many universities used to turn us away). SAT, ACT, CHSPE.

Organize classes for specialized units (calculus, chemistry, physics, american literature, govt...etc.) that parents might not be able to teach their children. Also have study/tutoring sessions. Essentially, offer all of the positive aspects that public school does, but homeschooling doesn't. Homeschoolers aren't in public school for one reason or another, but those reasons are rarely access to resources.

You might also contact teachers and parents and ask them what they'd like you to carry or have available for order. This way you give yourself a form of insurance that the store will be successful.

Tax question about storing teaching supplies?

We Answered:

I'm going to ignore the tutoring activity since she doesn't do that anymore.

My opinion is that your expense does not pass the "ordinary and necessary" test.

The teacher chooses to accumulate this much material, and although it might be useful to her job as a teacher, it is not expected or required of her as a teacher.

No deduction.

Discuss It!
