Vacancies In Teaching

Steve Said:

Finding teaching vacancies in NYC public schools?

We Answered:

They're not hiring right now.

Penny Said:

Where are Social Studies teaching vacancies?

We Answered:

You might want to try the DoDDs school system. The students are primarily those of military and/or civil service employees and some offer tenures abroad. Otherwise, you will also need to consider retaking your certification with another state even if they have openings. Social Studies, unfortunately, aren't hard to fill so not widely vacant.

Jerry Said:

where do i go to for teaching vacancies in the bahamas?

We Answered:

I don't think that's a good place to go. Hawaii is short teachers and they will pay you to relocate. They have a website.

Hector Said:

What is the best way for a non EU teacher currently living in the UK to apply for Irish teaching jobs...?

We Answered:

All jobs are required in law to be advertised, even if they're just going through the motions. If jobs are being filled without being advertised, they're being filled by people already temporarily in the role or people known to the school, there is no way to really compete with that.

You should also investigate if your qualified teaching status from the UK is recognised in the Republic of Ireland or if you'll be starting at the bottom again.

You should also keep an eye on The Irish Times & The Irish Examiner.

It's worth looking at the Irish education department's website as well, you could get a list of schools there and look at the ones in the big towns & cities.

The situation isn't that great at the moment in terms of teaching, it hasn't been for a number of years, I know plenty of people who had to leave Ireland to find their first teaching job even during the boom times.

Steve Said:

What is the newspaper on which teaching vacancies are advertised by private schools in Cyprus?

We Answered:

in England they would probably be advertised in the TES (Times Educational Supplement) which comes out every Friday and includes a section on jobs abroad.
