The Galapagos Islands is where he studied science. He dropped out of school after a couple months against his father's wishes.
He did like reading scientific books though.
Charles Lyell is the writer that influenced Darwin the most, but Thomas Malthus did as well, along with Georges Cuvier and Charles Lamarck.

Darwin went to school for a few months at Edinburgh University, but he studied medical stuff, not evolution stuff.
