Columbia is a truely remarkable school that IMO has more to offer than almost any other art school in the country. I do not know much about your specific majors at the school, but Columbia is focused on preparing students to enter the professional world when they graduate, and columbia alumni are consistantly doing incredible things in all industries (Barbershop, HBO President, CNN head photographer, etc, etc)... The facilities and faculty at Columbia are among the best in the country, and most are working professionals (which is why classes only meet once a week, so they can work the rest of the week), so they are critical in helping to make connections in your field of study

Weighted GPA's are useless at such schools. Your unweighted GPA needs to be at least a 3.8 in rigorous and challenging subjects to have a realistic shot. Even then your odd swill be 20% at best. That's at best - it will probably be worse.
