Sharon Said:

Would Atheists go to a Christian College?

We Answered:

I personally would not

There's a christian college down the street from me, but I am not going there [even if I got a scholarship]

I prefer going to a state or well-known University

Juanita Said:

Is Fairfield University a bad school, especially compared to College of the Holy Cross?

We Answered:

I went to Holy Cross and it is an outstanding college and I strongly recommend it. That said, there is nothing wrong with Fairfield and it will get you to where you want to be. It is an excellent school as well. Where you go to college is not as important as what you learn while you are there and Fairfield has everything you need to succeed.

Nathaniel Said:

How do you think i currently look to colleges?

We Answered:

english 3 3.0
forensic science, 3.0
us history 3.0

Maybe, I just missed it, but I don't see a math or foreign language in your junior year schedule? Otherwise, it looks like you have a 3.0. Most schools will only calculate gpa based on your 5 core courses; they won't care about gym or computer too much.

You aren't going to breeze through the admissions process with the lack of rigor in your high school courses and with your stats. Do you know what your class rank is?

I think you should really look at why you want to go to college. Is it just because you don't know what else to do? Or because someone else is expecting you to go? Because all of your friends are going? Or do you really want to go to college for the education?

Based on your high school coursework, it looks like you are likely to study something in the social sciences. My suggestion is to only go to a college, where you don't have to take any more loans than the subsidized Stafford loan. Learning you're not cut out for college can be an expensive lesson, with debt that can remind you of that lesson every month for years. Even if you do graduate, the social sciences aren't promising big money - so you don't want to be starting your life in too much debt.

Dennis Said:

What is a better university for nursing: Holy Family University or the University of Phoenix?

We Answered:

Holy Family is a private, traditional university, while the University of Phoenix is a for-profit school with an iffy reputation. It would be a safer bet to attend Holy Family.

Fernando Said:

College help?

We Answered:

Temple University is definitely the most well known of all these. Penn State is well known, but not that particular campus.

Sherri Said:

Did anybody go to Steubenville East last year (2008)?

We Answered:

No, I haven't been before. What is it? How did it strengthen your faith? What do you have faith in? Share your experiences with us even if we haven't gone! It sounds interesting!
