You would get a decent education at either Golden Gate State U or San Jose State U/SF campus. Why don't you apply to both and make a business decision if both accept you - which will cost less?
SFSU is of course the highest ranked of the three and that should be your first choice. However, it doesn't really mean a hill of beans. Go with a cost analysis.

In a way yes because the students with the better GPA's will be applying to the better schools. And professors can't give everyone A's, but a certain percentage of students will get those grades. So they will be more competitive at the better schools one could assume.

As far as Australian universities are concerned, they are the bottom of the barrel. They are advertising to students all over the world and even file their applications for them to get them in and pay a lot of money. It's big business to them. The sad thing is though that most of these students do not even speak English well and only went there because they would never have gotten into any university in the US.

So I would strongly discourage you from studying in Australia. I think it would be the mistake of a lifetime.
