Sydney University Courses
Dennis Said:
I'm looking at university courses and they seem to have different cut-off scores (eg ATARs) for the same cours? We Answered:
Yes - the higher the ATAR cutoff the 1) better the university, the 2) more valued the course i.e. employers see this as a better degree than the other university.Jaime Said:
Is there a book i can get which lists all the university courses available in Sydney Australia? We Answered:
All good guides, the official course guide though is from the Universities Admission Centre. You can get a copy from most larger newsagents and book stores, or if you are still at high school your school should have a copy for you.The UAC Guide has basic information about the individual universities as well as the course entry requirements. You would also use the guide when/if you decide to go to uni, to apply.
Online it can be found at: http://www.uac.edu.au

How good is the University of Technology Sydney for as Business course? We Answered:
University best hai, par beta 25 lakh lagte hain is kagaj ke certificate ke. You should check out universities @ Norway, Sweden or Finland, as the education is free for International Students like from India. So this would save you lots of money or trap of Loan. Just compare it with 25 lakhs tuition fee required to do masters in Australia. So you save 25 lakhs!!Again, check this official website at www.studyinnorway.no
Darlene Said:
What is the ATAR needed to gain entry into Sydney University in Medicine? We Answered:
University of Sydney Medicine program is not one you can do straight out of school - ATAR is irrelevant. You need a Bachelor degree with a Distinction/Credit average (you get one Pass in 4 years and you kill your chances) to get in plus a great GMAT and interview.Undergraduate medicine degrees (because there are only a couple around now - they are all moving to be postgrad) require you to be the BEST student. IF you are not the top student in the school (I mean #1-#3) then you will not get into undegraduate medicine. There are only 3 undergraduate schools now in NSW, UWS, UNSW and UniMewcastle with around a 400 student TOTAL to get in - 40 of those are international so there are only 360 places to compete for.
The universities, on top of the requirements try to diversify the students so they allocate some places to the over 30s (further reduction in numbers), disadvantaged people like single mothers etc. So in reality there are only around 300 places for straight out of school students. So if you are "not too intelligent" you need to get yourself another goal because undergraduate medicine is as likely as marrying Prince Harry.

Study Abroad : Does the University of Technology at Sydney have good science courses and a good prestige? We Answered:
G'day,University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is one of only 43 universities in Australia. It is fully accredited and has equal recognition amongst Australia university. It is also a public university, so you do not have to worry abt it's reputation. It is located right-smack in the middle of Sydney's CBD, so close to the centre of activities. That's all that I can tell you abt the University's recognition and reputation. You may also want to re-post this question in Travel - Australia - Sydney as there are more Australians answering questions in that section.
I am not clear what do you mean by look bad if you apply to a medical school. If you want to know which uni offering medical course, just visit the online database below to get the list of uni and their websites.
Hope this helps. Good luck and welcome to Australia :)
