As per SPP policy you need to have IELTS score at least with 6 bands, higher better. There is no provision as you stayed in UK, there is no IELTS require. And also there is no Guarantee that if you received offer letter means you will get visa also. I think you are getting wrong guidance.When you stayed 6 years in UK and studied also, what is point that you like to avoid IELTS exam now? I think better for you to give IELTS now and improve your chances of getting visa.
