Universities In New Jersey

Diane Said:

good universities in New york and New jersey?

We Answered:

You need to see which of these schools offer biochem specifically as a major, but all are good overall schools with excellent reputations in the sciences: SUNY Stony Brook, Cornell, Columbia*, Rutgers New Bruswick, Yeshiva U, New York U. Those are very, very strong science schools.

But there are plenty of other good unis in NY/NJ that you can also consider. In fact, there are so many that you need to narrow your focus. What is your GPA like? What region of NY/NJ would you like to live in? What size college would you prefer? These are things that can help you make a list of schools that might suit you. Because "all the good unis in NY and NJ?" That's a huge list!

You could look at... Manhattan College, SUNY New Paltz, SUNY Oneonta, Seton Hall, Fordham, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Albany, Clarkson, Hamilton, Colgate, Wagner College, Manhattanville, Syracuse, Rensselaer Polytechnic, Ramapo College, Drew U, Hofstra... there are way too many to list. Some are harder to get into than others. Some are considered "elite", others are simply good. Which ones are good for you depend on your GPA, and your preferences in terms of location and etc.

* Note that Columbia only accepts transfer students into its less prestigious continuing ed schools, and not directly into its prestigious "Columbia College".

Ruth Said:

Can u suggest any New Jersey universities?

We Answered:

Princeton is obviously the best school in the state. After Princeton, the next best are Rutgers University and The College of New Jersey. Rutgers is one of the better public schools in the country, but it's big so I'm not sure it fits your description. TCNJ is probably worth looking into though.

After the aforementioned three, some other schools in the state are Monmouth University, Drew, Stevens Institute of Technology, Fairleigh Dickinson, Rider, Rowan, and Seton Hall. Monmouth University is in Long Branch and has a nice, small campus feel to it. You should look into it as well. Stevens is great if you want to do engineering. It's in Hoboken, which is a nice city.

What are the good Universities in New Jersey?

We Answered:

Princeton does not accept transfer students, so that's not an option. Rutgers is probably your best option if you want to stay in the state.

Cornell, NYU, or Columbia

Dan Said:

What are the best universities in new jersey with business majors? Also best with the social life & fees ?

We Answered:

You don't need a business major to go into businesses. In fact the best, highest paying jobs in business go to kids from the very best colleges regardless of major. You've got 2 close by, Princeton and Penn. Penn does offer the business major and Princeton has economics and financial engineering.

Both schools have excellent financial aid, so if you can't afford them you'll be covered.
