Why don't more Texas universities have men's soccer programs?

Football obsession in the state of Texas:
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1…

"Fooball weekends in the Lone Star State are big on passion. Big on purity. Big on intensity. Almost bigger than life. Worship begins Friday nights with six-man games, builds to a fever pitch on Saturdays in college stadiums and reverently takes a bow on Sundays in Dallas. Texas is football. Big football Amen.

In Texas, it is a religious pilgrimage. Every weekend, the faithful leave their homes and turn themselves over to a higher power ... football, Lone Star-style.

It starts on Friday night in all its perfect purity, with a trip to freewheeling six-man football games played in hardscrabble towns like Lohn--places so small you'll never find them unless you know they're there."

Can u gimme a list of Universities in Texas and NewJersey,USA offering MS in Computer & related fields of engg?

We Answered:

I am an advisor at Texas Tech, and we currently have great computer science and energy programs. Tech has a program that teaches about Wind Energy, which is a huge deal here in the South Plains.
Texas Tech is a great school, with a medium sized student body, and a large campus. While Lubbock is a smaller city, there is alwasy stuff to do! Definately consider Texas Tech-you will be happy you did!

What Texas Universities do you recommend?

We Answered:

I grew up in Texas. My whole family went to college. A&M is ONLY good if you are in the corps. They are not the school everyone thinks they are. Don't go there. Half of my family went to UT, usually in Austin, but some in Dallas/Arlington. Either one of those is fine. I personally graduated from Texas Tech. I found when I applied to UT, all they wanted was my money. Texas Tech welcomed me with open arms. The housing is great, the sports are great and Lubbock is not the armpit everyone else thinks it is. Lubbock is a nice town with nice people. Yes, it is flat and yes it gets made fun of...I even laugh when it's a good one. But, Texas Tech is a school where everyone gets a chance to excel. I am a teacher, and I happen to think the TTU band is better than the others. Good Luck in your search.

Pamela Said:

good affordable texas universities with a good business program in texas?

We Answered:

I would check out either the University of Texas in Austin or Texas A&M University (I am a former Aggie myself, and very biased in regards to the Mays School of Business). Depending on your grades, both schools are great places to receive a degree from. Also, if you are entering your first year in college a much more affordable route to go is to enter a junior college (both universities have them) and then transfer once you have completed your general studies. Blinn College has a great program that you can enter into and then move forward onto A&M (not sure about UT, but I would imagine that they would as well). Do research, scout out the locations and determine which school is better suited for you personally so that you do not end up wasting your time or money.

Public universities in Texas with good (or reputable) art programs?

We Answered:

I don't know the reputations of Texas schools off-hand, but I have heard there is a lot of filming in Houston, and good schools for the film industry in general. You'll have check with the University of Houston to see what's available. A private university, Rice, may have something along that line, too. Look at what's in the programs, who the professors are and what they have accomplished, which will also be online in their departments. Make appointments with the departmental councelors to discuss your options -they love to do this, so don't think you're taking their time unnecessarily.

Ask the schools what their Brown rating is. The Brown rating system rates only the top 25 universities in the country. If a school doesn't have a Brown rating -don't waste your money, find one that does and go there.

Discuss It!
