How can a student from England attend an America University?

We Answered:

Studying abroad is a very expensive commitment but I can certainly help to guide you if you wish to study in the States.

Firstly you need to decide what it is that you wish you study and then find a University which suits and meets your needs. There are plenty of ways to find which University is right for you, it could be based on the schools academic record, financial costs or maybe even via location, perhaps there is specific state or city which you which to live in, climate to be in or maybe you want to close to the sea or mountains.

However you decide, it is up to you but just remember that you will be spending the next four years there.

Each University as different prices for their tuition just like each state and city as a different cost of living. The cost can range anywhere from $18,000 - $45,000 per year including tuition, cost of living, transportation etc.

If money is an issue you might want to look at attending a Community College. You spend your first two years here before transferring to a State/Metropolitan University to complete your final two years. This can save you quite a huge sum of money.

Once you have decided or narrowed down you choice of Universities or Community Colleges. Then your next step is contacting them and request that they send you all of the relevant paperwork for admission as an international student including details about the course you wish to study.

Then look what the requirements are to be accepted and make sure you have everything in order (fees, documents, test scores, affidavits etc) before sending off your application of admission to the University or Community College.

Once you have been accepted the University will issue you with the form I-20 and then you can finally start the visa process. You will be applying for a student visa (F-1)

If you want more information about applying for a student visa or if you want anymore help, guidance or assistance about anything regarding studying abroad... no matter how small the question maybe then do not hesitate to contact me directly (email or messenger) and I will be more than happy to help.

Below are a few links which provide some very useful information.

How can i go college and university in America?

We Answered:

I'm in the same situation as you.
Firstly, you need to look up on international education and students - which is what you'll be considered as.
You need to establish whether you can pay the fees.
You need to find the university you want to attend and look at THEIR policies on international students.
Pick more than several. The more you apply to, the higher the likelihood you'll be accepted to one.
You need to HEAVILY research this before you decide. There's a lot of aspects into it.
You'll also need a student visa.
Good luck! :o)

What do I have to do to be able to study performing arts and music in an america university?

We Answered:

Well, my question to you is, Do you want to study at a famous expensive university where you can display your above average talent? OR do you just want to study at a decent somewhat inexpensive
university?

If you are wanting the full fledged experience where you pay one arm and a leg,
you can go to the University of Southern California (USC), or The Cooper Union (New York state), or the Berklee college (New York State)

If you decide to go anywhere in the usa, and dont really care so much about prestigue, I suggest you take a look at Depaul University (Chicago Illinois) or the University of Oregon (UofO)

I will also let you know, some of the best performers I hae personnally known have either gone to the University of Oregon, USC, and Cooper Union.

Best of luck to you :D

How do you get into university (college) in america?

We Answered:

First of all, let me distinguish the terms college and university for you. In America, college and university are essentially the same, however, if there is a distinction between the two - colleges are smaller than universities, and for an institution to qualify as a university, it must have multiples schools (or colleges) within the university. I hope I didn't confuse you there.

Many were responding that you need to be a U.S. citizen to be accepted and attend, that is not true, although it is much more difficult to get scholarship money, ect if you are not a citizen, but most schools are anxious to attract international students.

If you want to apply to American schools, I suggest that you start by identifying colleges/universities that interest you. When I first started researching colleges, I found the Princeton Review most helpful - you can access this website at review.com. Here they will provide you with a questionaire that will help them identify which schools would be the best fit for you. They will also let you know what the admission requirements are for each school and provide you with the links to each school's website. Check it out! Good luck!
