University In Canada

Vanessa Said:

what is the closest airport to queens university canada?

We Answered:

Well, the closest airport to Queen's University is Kingston/Norman Rogers Airport, code YGK. There are flights there on Air Canada Jazz fairly regularly from Toronto/Pearson Airport (code YYZ).

The fastest way is to fly to Toronto and then connect onto an AC Jazz flight to Kingston. You can drive to Kingston from Toronto, but you'd be driving all the way across Toronto and then continuing on to Kingston so that's about a 3 hour drive each way. It's only about a 50-60 minute flight from TO to Kingston.

I'm a MA graduate of a UK university. Canada ON PR holder. Work as a labourer. Can anyone give an office job?

We Answered:

You need to start looking for the jobs. Canada is a wonderful country with equal opportunities for people who qualify. There are people with your qualifications who are really doing well in the corporate world.

My advice to you - stop being the victim and start looking for a job with some passion. If you keep on blaming Canada for not finding a job - you probabaly wont.

Go find a job placement agency in Toronto ( there are tonnes) - go to Workopolis.com if you cant search for them.

They will help you brush up your resume and get you started. You might have to start at the bottom - but like I said if you are good - you will move up.

I immigrated to Canada 5 years ago - I understand your frustration - and please listen to my advice and don't blame the country for something that is your responsibility.

How would I go about transferring to a university Canada?

We Answered:

I can't say for sure if your credits will transfer, it would depend on the institution you're looking for admission to. One thing to keep in mind is that in Canada what you might call community college in the states is more often than not just simply referred to as college and what you'd generically refer to as college is what we'd call University (yes I know it's interchangeable just being thorough seeing as not everybody get's that). What you're going to need to find out is what schools you're interested in and making some calls to their student services departments to ask if they'll take your GED at par or if you're going to need to complete some Canadian compulsories you might not have an American equivalent to. Summed up : pick a school then call and ask because there is no set answer.

Some helpful links you might want to check out- www.ontariocolleges.ca and www.ontariouniversities.ca

The above links are the links I used to apply to college and subsequently university later on...basically the way everybody gets it done in Ontario(my province) anyway. hope this helps, good luck!

Not really. Go to Waterloo or U of T.

How is the MBA programme in University Canada West, Vancouver ?

We Answered:

It's pretty much Canada's only private university MBA program. BC is the only province that allows private universities. As such people are probably going to be a bit suspicious of its accreditation. It's only been around for a few years so its long term reputation is not yet established., There's a pretty strong stigma against private colleges/universities in Canada as we have an ongoing issue with diploma mills - particularly those that seem to target foreign students unaware of this problem.

If you can, go to a public university's business school.
