Is it possible to live and work in England after i complete university there? We Answered:
The UK does have a program where graduates of its universities can stay in the country under the "post study worker scheme". Here is info on all that:http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workin…
It is also possible that a UK employer would chose to hire you, and sponsor your work visa, but that is highly unlikely unless you study something that is in great demand.

Free university for a Scottish person living in England and attending university in England? We Answered:
Tuition fees we pay if you study at a UK institution outside ScotlandIf you began your course of study in 2006-2007 or later, or are returning after a break in study, you may have to pay up to £3,290 towards your fees. You can choose to take out a student loan to pay your fees. The amount of loan you can get does not depend on your own income and that of your parents or your husband, wife, civil partner or partner, as appropriate. If you are not entitled to apply for your tuition fees, for example if you are repeating any period of study, you will not be entitled to apply for a loan to pay them. If you are eligible to apply for a loan to pay your fees, you must apply for your loan before 31 December 2010 if your course starts in the autumn (this will be 31 March 2011, 30 June 2011 or 31 July 2011 if your course starts later). You may not receive the Bursary or the Additional Loan during any session when you are not eligible to apply for a loan to pay your fees.

Can a Canadian go to university in England and also work there? We Answered:
First you need to get the correct qualifications and be accepted by universities, it's not very easy to get into the universities these days because it's very competitive being as the young people are actually using their brains and are beginning to understand that an higher education degree is vital. In addition, there is always a limited number of places each university offers to foreign students, depending on the course. The less competitive the course you're applying for, the more places might be available to foreigners; take for example medicine, most if not all universities do not offer more than 10 places for foreigners being as there might be only 100 or so places for home students.Basically to be able to study here, you need exceptional educational results and references to get into a good uni.
Then after being accepted by a university, you need to go and apply for a student visa(this does not give you the right to work here after your education, it only allows you to stay here as long as your education lasts); if you apply for another type you most probably would not get it at the time. If you're offered a student's visa, you can then come over and study the duration, towards the end of your education, you can apply for a visa to stay(i'm not sure what they're called) if they reject you, then you just have to go back to Canada and if you're desperate to live here, keep reapplying until you get accepted.

Who was the first woman to receive a PhD from a University in England? We Answered:
I cannot locate the first female to recieve a Phd in the UK, only a MD.I am wondering if it is because the English didn't use the term Doctor for a Phd, at least a female one.
As you can see from the woman below who gained her Phd in Italy in the 1600's, I'd venture to say it was around the mid-1880's, and quite possibly before that.
Winifred Edgerton, the first American woman to receive a Ph.D. in mathematics, Columbia University, 1886 .
Elizabeth Blackwell (1821 - 1910) first woman physician (doctor), founded the New York Infirmary for Women and Children in 1857, founded Women’s Medical College in 1867
Elena Cornaro Piscopia (1646-1684), Italian mathematician and the first female PhD
