Why does Cambridge University Press exist since 1534 and Amsterdam University Press since 1992?We Answered:
William Caxton an Englishman on his European travels looked at the new printing industry and subsequently set up a printing press in Bruges in Belgium. The first book produced in 1473 was in English. He returned home to England and set up his own printing press in Westminster in 1476 - the first book printed was Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.
Cambridge University was awarded "letters patent" by Henry VIII in 1534 that allowed them to print all types of books - hence Cambridge University Press.

Not that I know of.Carla Said:
Is it hard to get into the the University of Amsterdam as an International student? We Answered:
As a ex-student advisor for foreign students (although it was at a different institution in Amsterdam) then I would advise that you have a very clear motivaton at why this course is a perfect match for you (and you for it!) and make it about the course but not about the location. This is a mistake that many foreign student applications made for the course I worked for, and experience dictated that people who were studying to get to Amsterdam rarely graduated, and thus we were careful at the application stage to ensure the right motivations were there in the first place!
Also read as much as you can so you can show you are serious and have done the research. Know the course (read the UvA website) and also have expectatation of what life is going to be like. This site is a good one to read http://www.nuffic.nl/international-stude…
Good luck
