University Of Canterbury

Clyde Said:

What is the University of Kent (Canterbury) like?

We Answered:

I go to the other university in Canterbury but have to get the bus that goes up to the Uni. of Kent campus every Day. It is set in beautiful surroundings with wonderful views of Canterbury and the cathedral. In the spring, there are bluebells everywhere and the students have barbecues in the spring/summer time - but this was frowned upon due to the damage they do.

I know people who go there and yes, there are alot of foreign students but it has a friendly, vibrant atmosphere. I loved it when I went to visit.

Buses run every 5 minutes to take you into Canterbury (about a 5 - 10 min journey) so although it is not in the centre, it is near enough to make no difference. I think my grant would have gone further if I went there - not having to pass all those tempting shops in Canterbury to get there! Canterbury is also really convenient for a weekend away on the continent by ferry or the tunnel - another good reason for going.

But, whatever we think, you are the one looking at spending 3+ years there so go and see what you think for yourself. it might be the best uni in the world but if you are not comfortable there you will not do as well.

June Said:

Is there any other nearby accommodation to University of kent, canterbury?

We Answered:

There was a problem this year at the university with people not being able to get accommodation on campus. Luckily, Canterbury is fairly well connected with bus transport, so it should be relatively simple to find somewhere in the city for your guest to stay.

Try looking on the university accommodation forum: https://www.kent.ac.uk/forums/accommodat… (using kent ID/username and IT password to log in). Other students will be looking for somwebody to move in with them, and may advertise the fact there.

These people for example: https://www.kent.ac.uk/forums/accommodat…
need one other person to move in with them, and rent in £375 per month excluding bills, and the house isn't far from a bus stop or the city centre.

Hope this helps!

Virgil Said:

How can i from Canterbury to the university of warwich (in coventry)?

We Answered:

you can go by train from Canterbury to London Victoria, then to the underground to euston.
take the Victoria line ( light blue colour) north from Victoria to euston about 5 stations.
then from euston to Coventry the main line train will cost you about £15 if you buy it in advance but nearer to £40 if you have to buy it on the day at the station. you can buy it on line here
www.thetrainline.co.uk

the underground you will need to buy a ticket at Victoria station to go to euston the underground is a separate entity to the main line trains and often tickets are bought separately will only cost around a £ or so.
