We Answered:

Its departments of Economics, Government (Political Science), Sociology and Language and Linguistics are particularly well-known and are among the best in Europe. Essex's research in politics, economics and sociology received top (5*) ratings in the UK government's 2001 Research Assessment Exercise.

Javier Said:

Can you study music at the University of Essex?

We Answered:

Not the best place to study music I would think. England has better music schools. But, YES, they do teach it ... http://www.essex.ac.uk/events/event.aspx…

Go to Liverpool Street... from there, take the train to Colchester. Once you arrive to Colchester Station, get the bus 71 or 64 or 61...

Know anything about the University of Essex?

We Answered:

I have two teaching colleagues who went there - one over 30 years ago and another 4 years ago. The older one chose it because he liked the architecture.
The Uni is in Colchester, the oldest recorded town in Britain, so there is the Castle on the hill. There is a really good Zoo (better than the London Zoo, in my opinion) and the Mercury Theatre has some good plays. Colchester is only 1 hour away from London by train, and 1 hour away from Stanstead airport by bus. (The bus goes to the university for pick up!)
Town centre is quaint, but there is no central location for the market, which is too bad. The is a garrison on the south end of town, which brings in people across the UK. Despite that, you hear an Essex accent wherever you go.
"Oy! I'm Finkink!" ;)
