Chris Said:
Can i apply at uni with just grade 12 results instead of just grade 11?We Answered:
You can only apply using your final marks only if you have already finished school. I assume you will be applying to start in 2010 and as such will already need to apply this year using your school marks.I applied last year to Uni Stellenbosch and UCT and as such only have experience with these two.
I must warn you about medicine though, particularly if you are white. As a white candidate you will have little chance of acceptance unless you are averaging 90+%.
As for finance this is not that difficult to get in to.
Stellenbosch uses your grade 11 finals for conditional acceptance. However you also need to do their access tests and the access test results together with your matric finals need to average above 50% so yes here you could get in without relying on your grade 11 results, you will still need to send them in though. YOu also need to meat specific requirements and if I remember correctly that is something like 60% for mathematics if you intend to study finance.
UCT is a little more difficult to get accepted to, They ask for all your results from end of year grade 11, 1st and second term grade 12 results, your prelim results and the finals of course, keep in mind that if they see a large improvement is your results they will overlook your grade 11 finals. Also, you can take the optional UCT AARP tests and a good performance on these will help with your admission.
