Don't think there are any hotels in Oxford St.
There are a couple on Mount Pleasant which is nearby - try the Feathers Hotel.
The City centre is not that big though really you'll be fine staying anywhere and the Campus area is not the best really to be spending all your time around - you'll be missing out.
