Lillian Said:

i would like to go to university in south africa i am looking for a place where there is diverse culture.?

We Answered:

I'd probably suggest UCT(university of cape town) or UJ (Johannesburg)

Tyrone Said:

What does a University of South Africa degree look like?

We Answered:

From what i understand , it is a fully accredited varsity and loooks like any other degree. The reason for it being so cheap is that the exchange rate favours u considerably. But remember that it is a correspondence university without lectures.

I Know of guys who have done engineering at this university and are taking the jobs away fom US graduates, so take no heed in what this guy below me has answered. If you study from the same books and right exams that uphold a certain standard then why critisize.

Kathy Said:

If I was to do an LLB in Law at university in South Africa, would my degree be valid in another country?

We Answered:

Your degree would be valid, but you would have to take the Bar Exam for individual states in the US, I have no clue on the UK.

Kent Said:

Should I go to university in South Africa or America?

We Answered:

I don't know much about the education opportunities in South Africa and since I am from America, I'd have to suggest one from the country I live in. There are amazing opportunities and choices here with education (like what University you want to go to) and in the job market, but some are more expensive then others depending if you go within the state you live in and to a state school, or out of state and a private school. Good Luck!

Glenda Said:

Can you attend university in South Africa if you were home-schooled?

We Answered:

Porgie, As regards University you should inform yourself about the quota system employed at SA Universities ( there was a recent example with Medical Students). The next thing you should do is evaluate the worth of a current degree from a University in SA ( they are not accepted in the UK because of lowering of standards). The next thing you should do is consider the long term future of people like your daughter in SA given that you are not "Black" enough in the eyes of the ANC. Then get your daughter the best degree she can obtain that is valid Worldwide even if it means a sacrifice on your part.

Donna Said:

What's the best university in south africa?

We Answered:

It is hard to say as South Africa does not have any systems in place for ranking universities.

The University of Cape Town usually ranks highest in international rankings and is known to be diverse liberal and formerly communist.

Other good universities include Witwatersrand, Rhodes (small town feel) and University of Stellenbosch(Predominantly Afrikaans and much more conservative).

Stellenbosch university is in a very nice university town.

BTW The University of South Africa is a correspondance university that caters mainly to people who wre unable to get accepted into one of the other universities.

Joy Said:

Can you give me information on Monash University South Africa?

We Answered:

Okay, First here's the University's page:

http://www.monash.ac.za/

Second, here's the Wikipedia page it will give more information than I could describe:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monash_Sout…

Here is what I found for Location (Actually straight off Wikipedia): The campus is located in Ruimsig, which is 25km north-west of Johannesburg. It is a purpose-built, greenfields, 100 hectare campus, which contains among the most modern and state of the art technologies of any Monash University campus. The campus also has extensive sporting facilities, including basketball and volleyball courts, and a field for rugby, soccer and hockey.

From a couple articles I just read the place seems pretty safe and it's growing very fast. Since it is in Africa the cost of living seems cheap. This website is pretty basic but tells you the general idea:

http://www.monash.ac.za/international/co…

Anyway, the University website should tell you all you need to know. Good Luck!
