For photography, I recommend Ivy Tech - Southwest. It's also located in Evansville. It's a 2 year degree but you spend the entire 2 years studying photography, not just the fluff that USI makes you study.

PS: Don't worry about just getting a 2 year degree. You will get a photography job based on your portfolio not your transcript like other jobs.

Most all schools are what you make and get out of them. A mediocre school can be the best place for you to excell if you work hard. Nationally known on this list are Ball State, Butler, DePaul, Purdue. The others I know about as I used to teach a course twice a year for two weeks in Indianapolis. If you went to visit and loved University of Southern Indiana, your instincts are probably right and it would be a good school for you. The fact that someone tries to put it down is not valid as the experience wil be what you make of it. If you want to one day work in NYC, then the more nationally known your university, the better your chances for that mega-bucks job.

You don't get a "first come, first serve" basis. Everyone is evaluated at the same time once the deadline is over. You will get a reply by April and have until May to confirm attendance. Standard for all universities.
