how close is west florida university to Pensacola naval air base?We Answered:
Not too sure of the exact mileage, but I would say about 15 miles. Bus service is available and does go to and from NAS Pensacola. Plus cab service here is independents and doesn't cost much. You might also post on BB in your barracks to find someone else taking courses.Any other ? email me, I live 3 miles from the back gate to NAS.
Here is link to NAS to tell you what is available

Your opinions of Pensacola and the University of West Florida? We Answered:
Pensacola (if you're talking PCC) is unaccredited and is only there to extort money from you while you believe you're getting a Christian education. Go to an accredited Christian school if you want to be in that environment. Having a degree from an unaccredited university means that it is simply a worthless piece of paper in the minds of nearly all employers. Also, that school is ridiculous in its rules on social norms to the point where conservative Christian students have come out and said it was too much. (I say this as someone who received a letter every other month from these people trying to get me to go to their school. Disclaimer: I went to a Baptist middle school.) In conclusion, that school is ridiculous and an abomination to the name of education itself. If you must go to a university in that area of FL, go to University of West Florida. It's not exactly a great school, but at least it has accreditation. Plus, it's public, meaning you won't have faculty expelling you for giving your best guy friend a hug when you're feeling down. Try to get into some better schools, but if you are making a choice between Pensacola Christian and University of West Florida, pick the latter in a heartbeat and don't look back.
If you're talking about Pensacola Junior College (the community college), then it's a choice of whether you want to earn a 2-year degree and then move on to a 4-year program, or if you'd rather go to one school the entire time. Community colleges are cheaper, but they have the disadvantage of not always being able to transfer credits into 4-year institutions, as well as the fact that you will have to start all over again with a new school after 2 years and not as easily develop relationships with the faculty.
PS If you're just talking about Pensacola the city and not Pensacola the school, then I apologize for my rant. I am just really not a fan of PCC :) But I would personally go for a school not in the panhandle. Bad weather, culture isn't to my liking, etc.

You are not required to stay on campus as a freshman. The only time you are required to stay on campus in one of the residence halls is for orientation. Pensacola is absolutely beautiful and I love that there are beaches very close by =]Ryan Said:
