What are the differences between college/university entrance exams in the US and Australia? We Answered:
Australia is a smaller country with ionly 5 states (territories use a states year 12 exam procedure) so its easier to do statewide examination and then country wide university application. In the US from what I understand school boards play a huge part on the teaching within schools. Australian school boards deal only with fundraising and have no influence on who is employed, what is taught etc.Since Aus is a small country there is a much lower number of places available at university (and some unis like Uni of Sydney are looking to drop entrance numbers from 44K to 10K over the next couple of year) its much harder to get in as a student - only 100-200 places are available in each course, 30% are set aside for international students and the rest are up for grabs by Australians. As there are fewer unis offering undergraduate medicine, more interstate students apply for the undergraduate medicine courses and they are the ones that you are competing for place with.

Apartments near the University of Western Australia? We Answered:
You should look for an apartment in the Western suburbs of Perth. UWA is in Crawley but also look at surrounding suburbs; Nedlands, Subiaco, Daglish, Shenton Park, Karrakatta, Claremont and Dalkeith . Also, UWA is well serviced by public transport, so it is not entirely necessary to live right next to the Uni.Karl Said:

Does the University of Western Australia (UWA) have a music degree? We Answered:
Yes they do... however you must already play an instrument and sit a written and practical exam in October/November - prior to you applying for admission in February the following year... their music course revolves around classical/jazz... so if you like rock/contemporary or want to learn about sound engineering, then their course isn't for you... and its bloody expensive!!
