You can get many for free from your local Jehovah's witness. They have books that explain the bible in detail. I have read parts of many of them, and they have very good explanations that explain very confusing parts of the bible. They also has books that are specialized in areas, like the prophecies, and revelations. If you want more information on the bible feel free to go to:

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light for my path.

God's word helps us to see where we are going. It gives us light to see the next step we should take, and it lights our path down the road so we can see where we are going. People that walk in the dark end up groping along and often get hurt by what they fail to see.

verse 129-130 reinforce this.........

"Your statutes (or laws) are wonderful;
therefore I obey them.
1 The unfolding of your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple."

Consider verses 1-7 the same way - see what kind of benefits the word of God promises. Don't get too tripped up by the word "statutes, ordinances, decrees, precepts" and the like - these are just technical terms that mean mostly the same things - rules, laws, whatever it is that God is telling us to do, or not to do.
