What are specific causes and effects of World War 1?We Answered:
This is so funny: I just had a test on WWI today.Causes:
Long term: Alliances (its a pro and con), the Moroccan Crises, The Balkan Wars, Nationalism (especially Germany)
Short Term: assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand, Austrian ultimatum to Serbia, Germany's blank check: basically gave Austria the go ahead to war on Serbia, and Germany would support them
Results:
Germany is angered by the Treaty of Versailles, which in the War Guilt Clause blamed Germany for the outbreak of the war, and for the huge reparations it has to pay to the Allies. This will be used by Hitler to gain power in Germany
Also, the map of Europe is different than before the war broke out. Poland is recreated, and to allow it to have access to the sea, East Prussia is split off from the rest of Germany. Also, many weak countries are created, like Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia, which are prone to easy invasion by the Germans in WWII.
Hope that helped

These all happened during President Nixon and President Carter's administrationWatergate - political scandal that ended President Nixon's term of office, he resigned before he could be impeached
I have no idea what the Saturday night massacre is
The pardon - was temporary president Ford (Nixon's VP) forgiving any and all who were involved in Watergate, sort of slimy
Energy Crisis - during President Carter's time, OPEC, a group of oil producing countries got together to fix the price of oil / gas really high. Caused awful inflation in the US
Camp David - a meeting place in the US where president Carter took a bunch of leaders from the middle east and made them hammer out a peace deal that ended for a while everyone attacking Israel.
Iran Hostage - religious nuts took over the American embassy for almost 2 years in Iran and held people hostage. The Iranian govt did nothing and president carter didn't want to start another war in the middle east so he did nothing and was perceived as a weak man because of it. It lost his party their political power when he was voted out.
