Sergio Said:
How do you get a Lousy Teacher to Improve? We Answered:
So this is a case study of sorts?I would say sadly you cant do this through force or even much talking about what poor classroom management and learning techniques she has. She most likely wont listen. Most burnt out teachers have had it, think they have tried all of the solutions and that the answer lies in what the students do and cannot be effected by themselves. I would follow her rules, but react differently. As a good teacher would...positive encouragement, talking to kids one-one-one when a problem arises, implementing exciting lessons, etc. Hopefully she would see the difference in how the students acted and appreciated the difference. I would then "accidentally" leave a book on positive classroom management on her desk, a chair, a much used table, etc...somewhere she would find it
If all else fails....as one of my prof. told me, "Sometimes you learn what to do. Sometimes you learn what not to do."
