Now put 4 in for x:
y=2(4)
y=8
2. Again, plug in 2x-5 for y:
4x-(2x-5)=7
4x-2x+5=7
2x=2
x=1
Plug 1 in for x:
y=2(1)-5
y=-3
3. Change the first equation around to get x= y+2. Then plug in y+2 for x:
4(y+2)-3y=11
4y+8-3y=11
y+8=11
y=3
Now plug in 3 for y:
x-3=2
x=5
So:
1. x=4, y=8
