Math "riddles" HELP!?

We Answered:

1. You must mean that you have at least one dollar in US change as in Australia or New Zealand you can have one $2 coin! I will say five: 1 half dollar, 1 quarter dollar, and 3 dimes.

2. If the diameter of the earth is D, then the circumference of the earth is (pi * D) which is how far his feet travel. His head would travel {pi * (D + 9.33ft)}.

3. 100d + c = 2(100c + d) - 350

I will not do them all.

I hate my school....Where can I complain?

We Answered:

If the college is listed as an Accredited College or University, then turn them in. This kind of facility makes all the good ones trying to help students look bad. The organization that accredited the college should be listed in their brochure. Also look to see if there have been any complaints about this institution with the Better Business Bureau. Use the information from that area to help you get your money back. Good luck!

Math problem: Systems of Linear Inequalities?

We Answered:

Let the number of Rabbits = R and # of monkeys = M
They intend to buy at least 14 animals means R + M is greater or equal to 14

Each rabbit costs $4 and each monkey costs $40.and want to spend at least $200 means 4R + 40 M is greater than or equal to 200

If it costs 10 cents per day to feed each rabbit and g50 cents each day to feed each monkey and the zoo officials want to keep their feeding costs at a minimum, .10m + .50M = feeding costs and they want to keep this as small as possible, so M and R should be the smallest number possible.

Solve the first 2 equations together. ( I'm going to use the = sign since I can't type greater than or equal)

4R + 40M = 200 and R + M = 14 < multiply this one by 4>
4R + 4M = 56
----------------------- Subtract
36M = 144
or M =4
substitute to find R = 10
4 monkeys and 10 rabbits is 14 animals
4 monkeys cost $160 and 10 rabbits cost $40..That's $200

Here is a calculator for converting to Kiplinger.com MPG:
http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/gas_milea…

To find the number of gallons of gas you will use, divide the total miles by the miles per gallon.

Here is an index reference to find AAA's Fuel Gage Report:
http://fuelgaugereport.aaa.com/?redirect…

The cost will be the number of gallons of gas multiplied by the cost of a gallon.
