I think the way it has been is just fine as far as the time is concerned..
Our education system is too busy dealing with things that have no business being taught in school If we really just taught educational things and left a lot of the social & touchy feely stuff out we would have a better school system.

Why can't BHO change something that needs to be changed. They pass a health bill that is almost communism, instead of something reasonable. The economy is down the tubes completely and they spend 111 million dollars to create 55 permanent jobs.. Nothing productive is happening.

What is in your heart? What makes you light up on the inside? Everything that you have listed above says that you can HONESTLY do and be anything and anyone you want to be. Being a pediatrician would be fantastic but you would definitely be in school for a while (which is ok because if you do it straight out of high school you will be done by the time you are prepared to have a family of your own) but you would also work long hours until you completed residency and were prepared to open your own practice at which time you could pick your own hours and days to be open. This is your life, your future so what you really need to do is dig down deep into your soul and figure out what your passion is because you sound like a wonderful young person who deserves to have a career that you love and enjoy each and every day. So, give it some thought and see if you can find places to let you come in and spend a day to shadow someone and see how it feels when you are "in it". Example: if you think you want to be a doctor, go to your family doctor and tell them you are thinking of being a doctor and you wanted to see if you could set up a day to come to work with them and see if it's something you feel a passion for. My guess is that it's not going to be what you want to do because something like that is typically something that you feel in your heart pretty young.. but you never know so get yourself out there and shadow some people in the careers you are thinking about. But remember that it's YOUR future and it sounds like you have a supportive family so don't be afraid to speak up if mom starts to guide you in one direction but you want to take another or are not interested in the direction she goes in.

Not at all! However I can only attest to the public school systems in the State of Indiana. Here teachers really do very little 'teaching' like they used too. They actually are misnamed. They should be called assigners. The work is assigned in class and the children take the work home, without so much as an explanation as to how to do it. The parents are totally relied upon to do the actual teaching, and if the parents should happen not to be qualified to do this, then, too bad. You have to find a tutor for your children. I'm sorry, but the teachers of today have turned into custodial work assigners.
